The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence – The Abbey of St. Joan are opening the coffers they have been steadily filling in 2016 and are now accepting applications for their 2017 Charity Granting Cycle!
For the last several years The Sisters have been giving out grants annually to non-profit 501(c)3 organizations in Washington State. The organizations who have qualified for grants in the past have all been supportive of our GLBTQ community in some way, including-but not limited to-HIV/AIDS services, STD prevention, GLBT Veterans, youth support, and marriage rights. Since our Grant program was started, The Abbey Sisters have given away thousands and thousands of dollars to help support our community.
To get an application, email grants@theabbey.org with the name of your grant writer, organization, and their email address and we will be glad to send them a copy to print out with instructions on filling it out so that you give us the information we need to make a thoughtful and informed decision. You will need to provide proof of your 501c3 status to be considered.
If you have questions about the application process even after reading the precise instructions, we’ll be available to answer questions via email also at grants@theabbey.org.
We encourage you to get your thorough and concise application in ASAP, because it must reach The Abbey no later than midnight, June 10, 2017 to be considered. This will give us enough time to review each one before we distribute the monies at our Anniversary Party on July 15th. The competition will be even more intense this year than previous years, so make sure your application strongly reflects your work!

The Wildrose is a lesbian owned and oriented bar that welcomes all people. The bar has three steps. There is frequently smoking by the entrance to the bar, and it is not a scent free space. There is one gender neutral one stall bathroom and one multi-stall bathroom.
Parking sucks on Capitol Hill; try the light rail or the 11 bus line. Bros can be sketchy in this neighborhood, if you can, try and come and leave with a friend.
