In classic Sisterly tradition, Seattle’s nuns will be choosing a celebration of life, memory, and the joy that our community has for each other. We will tour Capitol Hill’s queer community hot spots with a pub crawl, raising a glass or three to toast the memories of those we have lost to HIV, as well as, to celebrate the friends who are still living with the virus.

Join the Sisters of The Abbey of St. Joan and friends in a day-long vigil to commemorate World AIDS Day. We will be creating memorial space in the Calamus Auditorium at Gay City Health Project that will feature a living ancestral altar (see below for more information), a memorial wall, candle dedications, a musical history of HIV, and more.

Back by popular demand! The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, Abbey of St. Joan presents “The Sisters’ Pantry 2”! “Sisters’ Pantry” is a food drive for Chicken Soup Brigade; a project of Lifelong AIDS Alliance.

Congratulations to our newly elected board officers and directors. Sister Glo Euro N’Wei was elected Prioress. Sister Lilith Faerie was elected Cannoness. Our new Directors are Sister Beyoncé Ving, Sister Christiana Puregaëspella Metroform (Metro), and Sister Marilyn MOAN-Roe.

It has been two years, and there are those of us in our house and among our community that still miss our dear Sister Karma Za Betch. In memory, Quake Rugby and the Sisters will be getting together for an evening to raise a glass for an amazing Sister. Maybe even have a Captain Morgan and Diet in her honor (her go-to drink).
